Richmond Hill Health Club Rules

  1. The Club, known as Richmond Hill Health Club Ltd, is a proprietary club and has been formed to provide fitness facilities for its members at the appropriate rate of charge, details of which are available at Reception. The day-to-day running of the Club will be controlled by its Directors and their personnel.
  2. Members and their guests shall agree to abide by the Club rules. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the existing membership, which will be at the discretion of the Club Management. In such circumstances a member will not be refunded his or her membership fee.
  3. It is a condition of the Club's license that members and their guests do not bring alcoholic drinks to the Club. Members are requested to refrain from bringing prepared food/sandwiches to the Club for consumption there.
  4. Full membership subscription/renewal fees and guest fees must be paid prior to facility use. It is the individual member's responsibility to ensure that arrears in respect of his or her monthly direct debit membership fees do not occur. Members with outstanding direct debit fees will not be granted access to facilities unless payment has first been made by credit/debit card or cash. The Club reserves the right to charge an administrative fee in respect of non-payment when advised by bank, such as "instruction cancelled, refer to payer" etc. Lapsed membership will be subject to a registration fee. The membership renewal date in respect of annual memberships is stated on the membership card and application form; for direct debit membership the joining date is stated.
  5. Members who join under a corporate scheme are required to complete their home address and contact telephone number on the contract form. Email notice of change of address is required.
  6. Membership fees, facility rates and fitness timetables are subject to change without prior notice. Up-to-date details are available on the Club's website and at Reception.
  7. Members may introduce guests to the Club subject to approval of the Management. They may use the facilities provided the appropriate fee is paid in advance at Reception. Guests are required to sign-in at Reception. Each guest engaging in activities in the Club or making use of its facilities is responsible for ensuring that he or she is properly equipped and that his or her state of health and physical condition are such as not to involve any risk to him or herself nor to any other person making use of the Club. No guest under the age of 18 is permitted to use the fitness facilities. Unaccompanied children of members/visitors, for safety reason, cannot use any of the Club areas, upstairs or downstairs.
  8. The Proprietors/Management reserve the right to refuse admission to members/guests who conduct may be damaging to the Club or the interest of other members. A member who has been expelled from the Club will automatically forfeit any outstanding membership fees.
  9. Any breakage of equipment must be reported to the Duty Manager immediately. Any misuse of equipment or any unruly behaviour may cause the member to be banned from the Club for an indefinite period.
  10. The Management/Proprietors will not accept any responsibility for loss of personal property of members/guests in the Club areas nor for injury to members/guests on the Club's premises or car park.
  11. It is the member's responsibility to ensure that he or she is capable of undergoing the fitness routines or sauna treatment her or she wishes to undertake at the Club both supervised or unsupervised without any recourse on the Club and that there are no medical reasons that would prevent him or her from using the facilities of the Club safely.
  12. In the interest of security and safety all members must carry their membership cards and produce at Reception on every visit to the Club.
  13. Drinking glasses, bottles or alcoholic drinks are not permitted within the Club's fitness, health and changing areas.
  14. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the Club's premises.
  15. Suitable attire must be worn whilst working out. We ask that members wipe down any equipment used with sanitizer provided in regulation of health and safety standards. For reasons of safety members are required to keep all equipment is the designated areas of the Club.
  16. The Club reserves the right to increase membership fees once a year to commence January. Notice will be given 1st December prior.
  17. Members may book Studio Classes by telephone, email, website up to 7 days in advance. A minimum cancellation period of 12 hours required. Failing to do so may result in an arrear charge of £15 for the respective Studio Class unless the booking can be re-allocated. A non-appearance/non-usage charge of a booked Studio Class may apply after 5-minutes into time. It is essential to note that the member who books the Studio Class is responsible for the settlement. At all times new booking for the studio class will only be accepted from members who do not have an outstanding arrear with the Club.
  18. The Club reserves the right to cancel any studio classes without prior notice. Studios are out of use when classes are not taking place. The unsupervised use of Studio 1 will be available to members only, provided each member using Studio 1 signs the Disclaimer form at Reception prior each usage to accept that they work out at their own risk and that Richmond Hill Health Club Ltd will not accept any responsibility to any injury to them or any others using Studio 1 at the time or any damage to the studio or equipment therein.
  19. Members are not permitted to keep any items in lockers overnight unless they have hired and pre-paid for the rental charges at the prevailing rate. Club Management has the right to arrange regular locker check; any items found in unpaid lockers will be removed and stored up to a maximum of the one month, following which members will be required to pay £10 retrieval charge. After period has lapsed all unclaimed items will be disposed of.
  20. Freezing a Membership Following a minimum direct debit membership of three months a member can freeze their membership for a period of 1-3 months. Following the 3 months period the prevailing monthly direct debit fees will automatically be reinstated. During the "frozen" period, and administrative fee will be charged.
  21. In order of freeze a direct debit membership, a written notice must be received at least 1 month prior to the date from which the "freeze" begins. That date and the "freeze" date will be in line with the date on which direct debit payment falls due. For example, if a membership direct debit payment is made on the 3rd of the month, the freeze is to begin on the 3rd and notice must be received in writing no later than the 3rd of the previous month.
  22. Freezing a direct debit membership will not amount to or be treated as a cancellation of the membership. The contractual 1 month notice of membership cancellation will still apply. Please refer to the front sheet of the membership contracts as to the cancellation provisions.
  23. The "Freezing a Membership" rules do not apply to annual and fixed term membership.
  24. I agree that as a member of Richmond Hill Health Club Ltd. I will comply with the Club Rules. I understand that direct debit memberships are not transferable. I also agree that any visitors I shall bring to the Club will be bound by the Club Rules. I understand and agree that in order to cancel my membership with the Richmond Hill Health Club I will serve notice in writing by email to the Club and will be required to make ONE further payment in lieu of my cancellation of membership. I am aware that if the 1 payment notice period is not adhered to, I will still remain liable for this payment.
  25. Guests must be accompanied by a member at all times, register at Reception and pay the current guest fee before using the facilities.
  26. The Club reserves the right to be closed for Bank holiday and/or weekend following.
  27. The company cannot be held responsible for any services or equipment not available due to fault or breakdown.
  28. Parking facilities are at present available to members/guests free of charge subject to availability and only while using the Club's facilities; car registration numbers must be left with reception when checking in prior to Club use. Failure to do so may result in the vehicle being issued a parking ticket at the prevailing rate to the respective member/guest, paid directly to the ticket issuing company. Please see Parking Notice on display at the Club for restricted parking facilities at the rear car park. However, it should be noted that all parking facilities are provided on the understanding that they could be withdrawn at any time should the tenancy not be renewed; the appropriate notice will then be given.
  29. The Proprietors/Management of Richmond Hill Health Club Ltd reserves the right to amendments and cancellations of the above without prior notice.
