Foundation Yoga is one of four yoga classes available at Richmond Hill Health Club. Our centre is just a 10-minute walk from Richmond Station, and we have a car park open to members. This class is a great way to begin your yoga journey, designed to break down the essential elements of yoga step by step.
Our Yoga Foundation classes are led by qualified instructors who inspire you to reach your potential, tailoring each session to help you begin your yoga journey with confidence. Our instructors are knowledgeable and ready to provide guidance and advice, so you can always ask questions and feel supported along the way.
Our yoga studio is 1 of 2 fitness rooms that host over 40 classes a week. The Richmond club facilities cover 6,500 square feet, where we offer multiple exercise rooms. Including a free weights area, cardio & resistance room and a stretching area. Then you can find your inner calm with a relaxing steam in our Finnish sauna.
This class is all about breaking down the essential elements of the yoga practice in a supportive and welcoming space. During the class, you will find relaxation and strength as you move on the mat. Different asanas (postures) will help you to link your movement with your breath.

In the world of Yoga, there are many traditions and paths to choose from. Foundation Yoga is the first part of yoga that any yogi should begin with. It focuses on basic positions, body alignment, breathwork and mindfulness. These are the fundamental practices you learn that ensure that, later on, more challenging yoga is done safely. Yoga is a powerful form of exercise as it helps to train the body and mind by helping you focus on the dynamics of both together.
Alongside Foundation Yoga, we have Vinyasa yoga, Hatha yoga, and Rocket yoga classes.
Yes, this yoga class is made for beginners! Whether you want to start your yoga journey or you are just looking for a low-impact way to exercise the whole body, this is for you.

It is best to wear something loose and comfortable to allow for full range of movement. We also recommend bare feet for good balance and grip.
All classes are accessible through your membership. Depending on your membership plan, this may be on specific days or times.
If you are not in the spirit of yoga, we have pilates classes and a low-impact class dedicated to gently improving mobility, balance, and strength. All are based in a safe and supportive environment.

A gentle, low-impact class designed to improve mobility, balance, and strength in a safe and supportive environment. Perfect for older adults looking to stay active, reduce stiffness, and boost overall wellbeing.
Exercises are performed standing, seated and lying down with emphasis on alignment and posterior lateral breathing whilst executing the moves. These will initially be performed with the instructor on a timed sequence to create the flow and then at your own pace under guidance.
These classes are fast-paced sessions where groups ride stationary bikes to the beat. They are led by an instructor who directs different speeds and altitudes to simulate tough climbs and adrenaline-fuelled sprints through terrain and route challenges.
